Joining Derbyshire Pension Fund as a Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) employer will either be compulsory, or a choice depending on what category of employer you fall into.
Some organisations, including academies, are recognised in the LGPS regulations as scheme employers and automatically participate in the scheme.
Organisations that are not automatically scheme employers, but who meet certain conditions, can be admitted as scheme employers. These are called admission bodies.
Some organisations, such as town and parish councils, can decide which individuals or positions are eligible for the LGPS. These are called designating bodies.
This section provides information about each type of scheme employer and will help you prepare for joining the fund so that the transition is as seamless as possible from the perspective of your LGPS eligible employees.
